Of course, it cannot completely recreate it, but it is *extremely* close on a couple of important points: the filters, the rotating voice allocation, and the fact that each voice had its own, shall we say, "characteristic." I have been going through the sounds the last few days and I just wanted to let you know I'm impressed with OPX Pro II. Most patches of VSTi's (and hardware instruments) are drowned in effects to make them sound good but OPX Pro II sounds absolutely terrific without the use of effects! I agree some sounds sound better in OPX Pro II with a touch of delay or reverb and the patches where these effects are added used sound more lively now. OPX Pro II was missing in my VSTi collection and I'm sure I will use OPX pro II a lot for it's authentic, recognizable, warm and fat sounds.

All OP-X are very close to the originals - I own a Matrix 6R and can compare. Sonic Projects perfectly captured the Oberheim spirit and put it into 21th century - making it available to all that never would be able to afford the originals like a legendary Matrix 12 who still sells for top prices and is hard to get at all.

In my own opinion it's the best sounding analogue emulation out there today. Tonally it's just fantastic. I was a bit worried how the additional FX might have been applied to OP-X Pro II, since the real mark of OP-X was that it sounds great without any FX. But it's all done nicely and actually serves to enhance things really well.

I just upgraded from OP-X Pro to OP-X Pro II. Great job! It's a real step up and well worth the tiny upgrade price you're charging right now ($35). A lot of the new factory patches sound fantastic and are easily tweaked, too. I particularly like the delay feature on the LFO, it's very useful for some patches. I own quite a few high quality virtual analog synths, but this is the best sounding one by a mile.
